As a Board member and former staff member, I'm fundraising for Riverzedge Arts this GivingTuesday because I've seen the difference that creative, social, and financial support can make in teens' lives.
Riverzedge Arts gives teens in Woonsocket, RI a positive place to learn, grow, and learn how to be professional artists - a place where they feel safe, welcome, and nurtured even when they're not at home. Participants in the Arts Education and Training (AET) program earn hourly wages as they work with professional artists to learn all the skills and technologies they need to pursue a career in the arts or any other field they choose. Riverzedge also provide a Youth Supply Center where youth can stock up on food & hygiene materials, and connects them with resources including tutors and mental health counselors to help them face challenges and build a healthy future for themselves.
