Our Youth Need Our Love!
I joined the board of directors at Riverzedge Arts because I care deeply about our youth, and I know you do too. I'm fundraising for Riverzedge Arts this GivingTuesday (November 29) because our love for our youth can be life-changing.
If we can send a little love to Riverzedge Arts, we can give teens a place to learn, grow, and learn how to be professional artists—a place where they feel safe, welcome, and nurtured even when they're not at home. And for some, that might be the only place they feel that way.
Riverzedge Arts even pays teens to participate in their Arts Education and Training (AET) program, where they work with professional artists to learn all the skills and technologies they need to build their own careers in the arts. And they get the care and support they need to transfer those skills into any other career they might want to pursue.
More than that, if we can send our youth some love this GivingTuesday, we can fill their Youth Supply Center with things like vegetables, Froot Loops, and chicken noodle soup for teens who don't get enough to eat. And our love can give the comfort of simple things like toothbrushes, fresh soap, and deodorant to youth who need them. I know those are things I couldn't do without.
If we can just find it in our hearts, we can also give struggling teens access to tutors and mental health counselors to help them face today's challenges and build a healthy future for themselves.
